DEPARTMENTS
Equipment Introductions

1. The Air Tilt Trailer

Felling Trailers has released an innovative trailer to its tilt line: the Air Tilt Deck-Over. This design utilizes air, powered from the tow vehicle, to tilt the trailer and optional ramps, eliminating the need for hydraulics. The trailers are also equipped with Felling’s Air-Latch System (deck lock), which allows the user to lock and unlock the deck with the flip of a switch. Standard features include a white oak deck with 6-foot wood inlaid beavertail, 10 D-rings and toolbox with lockable cover, and high-strength grade, 80 steel main beam and cross members. Approximate deck height is 32 inches loaded.

2. Breakout Backhoe Attachments

Two EDGE mini backhoes have been added to CEAttachments’ lineup of backhoe attachments for skid steer loaders. Features include replaceable, hardened bushings and grease fittings on all pivot points. The fixed model provides a digging depth of 73 inches with an overall reach of 75 inches and a bucket dig force of 3,895 pounds. The swing model offers in-cab electric controls, cushioned swing cylinder with 140-degree rotation, 76-inch digging depth, 78-inch digging reach and 3,800-pound dig force. There are five buckets with bolt-on teeth that fit these mini backhoes: 10, 12, 16, 18 and 24-inch sizes.

3. Material Application Made Easy

Designed to handle jobs of any size, the TM-70 pneumatic blower from Express Blower, Inc. spreads a wide array of materials, including mulch, compost, soil blends, wood chips and aggregates. The unit is a fully self-contained, steel-framed aluminum box that features a 275 hp, turbo-diesel, Tier 3-compliant Caterpillar C-7 engine. For greater flexibility, it is designed to work with a variety of tractor configurations. A self-diagnosing system monitors for low oil pressure and shuts off in the event of excessive temperatures. A computerized control package automatically adjusts the entire feed system based on material and operating conditions, eliminating the need for system settings.

4. Machines Made for the User

John Deere’s new D-Series includes nine models: the 318D, 320D, 326D, 328D and 332D skid steers and 319D, 323D, 329D and 333D compact track loaders. Overall, D-Series cabs feature 24 percent more room than their predecessors, 6 more inches of headroom and 50 percent reduction in noise. A high-performance HVAC system includes eight adjustable airflow vents. The machines have electronically controlled Tier 3/interim Tier 4 engines coupled with an auto idle feature. The EH Performance Package means operators can make adjustments to create a machine that fits their application or skill level.

5. Let it Snow!

Land Pride has released its TB25 Series trip-edge blade. The blade is available in 96 or 180-inch widths and features 10-gauge moldboard construction. The blade is adapted for quick-attach front mounting on 30 to 80 hp skid steers and tractors equipped with front loaders that have quick-attach-type adapter mounting plates. These blades are primarily designed for snow removal operations in the forward operating mode only. They are also capable of pushing light aggregate materials such as pea gravel. The trip-edge design provides improved protection against blade damage when unexpected ground obstacles are encountered.
