In Your Own Words
What’s on Your Equipment Wish List?

Georgia

“I could use another 32-inch mower, not really looking to spend more than $1,500, so I’ll probably get a used one to two-year-old unit off Ebay/Craigslist locally. What about you guys? I’ll start: 32-inch Scag walk-behind.”

Colorado

“Either a Scag or Exmark Z, 60-inch cut, and a new trailer. I need to replace worn-out equipment. When you re-weld your trailer every couple of months, it’s too old. How old? Well, let’s just say it makes me look like a young pup.”

Pennsylavania

“Wish list: new truck. Time to trade in one of the six and get me a new one.”

Ohio

“I want to get my new truck, a new Billy Goat walk-behind blower, new stick edger and various small related items. It’s pretty sad when I get excited over new company equipment.”

Virginia

“I will be purchasing a new 61-inch, 29 DFI Kaw [29 hp Kawasaki digital fuel injection engine], Scag Turf Tiger in the near future. I am thinking of a new walk-behind, either a Scag or Quick 36-inch Samurai. Might be able to work a pretty good deal on both Scags, just have to wait and see. Also, Redmax trimmer, hedge trimmer and edger. If I can sell my 12-foot trailer, I will be going to either 14 or 16-foot, haven’t decided yet. I have sold all my old equipment and have to buy more. I have talked to a few dealers in my area, and they are willing to give some great deals to move some equipment.”

Maryland

“Add a landscape dump truck and second crew for landscape installs and maintenance (only if the house development goes through), and a Walker with a GHS [grass handling system] to do high-end [jobs].

New York

“To pay off everything, of course only to start all over again and buy more toys!”

Kentucky

“Isuzu box truck, 18 or 20-foot with a manual ramp; Dingo with forks, auger bucket, soil conditioner; a new Scag 61-inch Turf Tiger; Exmark 48-inch, walk-behind ECS [Enhanced Control System] hydro; GMC 2500 crew cab, diesel, Allison auto [transmission] 2003-2004, white with a Z dump insert; 40 full-service residential, 20 commercial and 25 installs, five hardscapes; and to continue to be bill free.”

Reading, Pa.

“A 26,000 GVW dump, mini excavator, new facility.”

North Carolina

“I wish to have a baby, and to get a bigger trailer and maybe a 36-inch walk-behind.”

Memphis, Tenn.

“Walker 42-inch with GHS [grass handling system] (my 48-inch finally died with 2,700 hours); Quick 36-inch with Kawasaki engine (I have seen them go, and they cut pretty good and take up less space in my enclosed trailer.); Scag 48-inch hydro walk-behind (I cannot bring myself to shell out $5,000 for a walk-behind mower); Honda commercial rear-tine tiller; Husqvarna chain saw, 455 Rancher with 20-inch bar; heat and air cab for my Gehl skid steer; new 25-foot plus 5-foot deckover gooseneck with 14,000 GVW (My 20-foot bumper pull is getting old, but she is a beast); 12-foot bush hog for my tractor (save me time cutting my own property); wife’s dream house, because she puts up with me and I work 85 hrs a week nine months of the year (she never complains, but I do).”

Texas

“New F-350, S250 Bobcat, new Toro T2 walk-behind, have a crew running so I’m not having to mow anymore.”

Tennessee

“Stihl Kombi 110 with edger, hedge trimmer and pole saw attachments. Most importantly, have everything paid for by this time next season.”

Massachusetts

“‘An 07/08 Exmark Phazer or [Lazer Z] CT zero-turn, 52-inch deck; 21-inch push mower; Echo backpack; two Echo trimmers; Echo pole hedge trimmer; numerous other stuff, like wheelbarrows, shovels, etc.

“I need to restock a lot of stuff, but this isn’t really a wish list, all this stuff we are getting in March or April of next season, we really have no choice. Hopefully another dump truck in the summer/fall of next year with plow/sander so we can plow/sand for the city.”

Georgia

“Rain and more rain!”

Indiana

“A curb machine, a bed edger and a mortar mixer. Guess what I wanna do.”

Pennsylvania

“Waste your time?”

Indiana

“Well, I could mow like every other guy with a truck in this town... not! Curbing not doing well in Pennsylvania?”

Pennsylvania

“Curbing is nonexistent in Pennsylvania. Freeze/thaw will tear that stupid curb up in no time.”

Atlanta, Ga.

“I want an excavator and a new set of hardscape tools. No more new toys, already think I have overspent and taken up every corner of space I did have on new equipment. A new laptop is a must, also.”

Murfreesboro, Tenn.

“I want a new Grasshopper 223 and a Duramax.”

Erie, Pa.

“A 34-inch walk-behind, debris loader, dump trailer.”

 Michigan

“A 25 to 35 hp utility tractor with loader, V-box salt spreader.”

Georgia

“Oh yeah, I forgot one Powerhouse Prodigy, if I can find one under $3,000.”

U.S.A.

“Have you checked IronPlanet? I was looking at past auctions and saw some in good condition that went for $5,000 with a trencher, trailer, auger and tiller. Looked like a pretty good deal; $3,000 is probably not going to happen unless the motor is blown or something major is wrong.”

Kansas

“Let’s see, bought three Kubota ZD-326s, two Everride Warriors, a 48-inch Wright Stander and a Z-Sprayer (Max) this year so far. Maybe next year I can finally just get good, reliable help.”

New York

“My wish list: Pace American summit trailer, 8 by 16 feet; Scag 36-inch, walk-behind mower; Little Wonder walk-behind blower. Might be more little things, I didn’t list.”

Columbus, Ohio

“Our wish list: a new, 48-inch Scag zero-turn; Little Wonder walk-behind blower; a new, 16-foot trailer, so we can have two trucks out; and a new Duramax in deep blue metallic for myself.”

Duluth, Ga.

“Steady rain for a week and a new set of tires for my truck. Maybe a navigation unit.”

Georgia

“I know that’s right about the rain. Hey, you’re in Atlanta too. Go check out BrandsMart, I got one for $99 yesterday.”
